Nikolay Denkov admitted to ambassadors: Russia is guilty of corruption in Bulgaria - 1

"The path to Bulgaria's European future goes through the fight against corruption, and corruption in Bulgaria is connected to Russia.“ This was stated by the Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov during his meeting with the group of ambassadors from the EU member states, the Representation of the European Commission and the ambassadors of Great Britain, Ukraine and the USA.

Prime Minister Denkov thanked them for the excellent cooperation over the past 10 months. He emphasized that thanks to joint diplomatic efforts, our country was accepted into the Schengen area and is making progress on the way to the Eurozone.

The Prime Minister reminded of what was done during the mandate by emphasizing the changes in the Constitution in the area of the justice system and, in particular, the possibility of the chief prosecutor being investigated, and not being untouchable, as it was before. Prime Minister Academician Denkov informed the ambassadors of the report he submitted to prosecutor Daniela Taleva regarding the case of the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev. Earlier today, the Prime Minister filed facts and circumstances that became known to him in the course of his official duties, which gave rise to reasonable doubts about the possible commission of a crime by the I.F. chief prosecutor Mr. Borislav Sarafov.

The Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov also pointed out that our country is normalizing, but still needs many reforms. "We are Europeans and as politicians we will continue to work for Bulgaria's European future," the Prime Minister also said.

For their part, the ambassadors also thanked the Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov and his team for the good cooperation.
