Minister of Agriculture Kiril Vatev has resigned, BNR reported. citing information from the Council of Ministers.
Vatev was one of the four ministers of the regular PP-DB and GERB-SDS government, who kept their posts in the official cabinet.
His stay in the Ministry of Agriculture until now is connected with a number of legislative initiatives, which the branch organizations have been waiting for a long time, but also with a number of dissatisfactions, protests and a request for his removal from the post.
Kiril Vatev argues for his stay in the Ministry of Agriculture with the desire to finish the work he started. However, only 8 days after the official appointment of the cabinet, he resigned.
No reasons have yet been given for the resignation.
According to the government press office, Dimitar Glavchev is proposing to President Rumen Radev that Georgi Takhov take the position. He is currently the executive director of the DF "Agriculture".
Glavchev cites as reasons for the change failure to cope with official duties, as a result of which the tension and dissatisfaction in the agrarian sector continues, without reaching the necessary legislative and administrative decisions with the necessary financial security, such as the Ukrainian aid for farmers for 2024 d.
