Russia directly carries out terrorist operations on Bulgarian territory. This is what Boyko Noev, former Minister of Defense and diplomat, told the BNR.
"It has even been proven in some investigations of the Bulgarian prosecutor's office, which have not been completed for many years.
In Bulgaria, this is a topic that is not popular. Unfortunately, it is not popular with the Bulgarian parliament either.
Bulgaria's problems are not only related to propaganda and disinformation. The prosecutor's office has been penetrated by Russian influence, he also stated in the program "Sunday 150".
"This topic will increasingly come to the surface of the political debate in Bulgaria".
Belgium, which currently holds the EU presidency, launched an investigation months ago into possible Russian interference in the upcoming European Parliament elections. At the last meeting of the deputies in Strasbourg, a resolution was also adopted, in which Bulgaria is also mentioned.
"The threat from Russia to Bulgaria is now direct. We are declared an enemy state. Propaganda and informational pressure is exerted on Bulgaria, as well as direct - through the action of Russian operational groups that explode, poison, etc. This has been going on for more than ten years".
Noev noted that among the authors of the resolution there is also a Bulgarian MEP.
"I would note the role of Andrey Kovachev. He is also very active in matters of relations between Bulgaria and the RSM.
The resolution mentions Bulgaria somewhat peripherally. It can be characterized as a good first step".
Anti-Bulgarian circles are expected to come to power in the RSM, Noev also warned.
"According to the Macedonian constitutional system, the rights of citizens are collective. If you are not part of an ethnic group that is recognized in the Constitution, you do not have the right to have a quota for participation in state power, the army, the police and educational institutions. At the moment, it is forbidden to call yourself Bulgarian in the RSM. The inclusion of Bulgarians in the Constitution is not a formal act, but a first step to return the dignity and human rights of many of our compatriots".
The hopes of some Macedonian politicians that there will be a review of the EU positions are unfounded, Noev said.
"But Bulgaria will have to think about the next steps".
The return to power of the status quo will cause severe damage to Bulgaria, he also believes.
Delyan Peevski made a purchase and sale with Elena Yoncheva, Noev also stated.
"Mrs. Yoncheva sells, on the one hand, her active position on the revelations about Boyko Borisov. She is also known among the top European MPs who stand on pro-Putin positions".
