BSP will mark May 1 – Day of labor and international workers' solidarity, the holiday of the newspaper “DUMA” and the left press with initiatives throughout the country, under the heading "PEACE!" WORK! SOLIDARITY!”.
In Sofia, from 9:30 a.m. in the Plenary Hall of the former building of the National Assembly (on National Assembly Square, next to the "Alexander Nevsky" memorial temple), a meeting of the BSP will be held with parties, non-governmental organizations, civil structures from the left spectrum, center and patriotic organizations. Representatives of the trade unions are also invited to participate in the meeting.
The central topics of the discussion will be the right and working conditions, inequalities, the income of the working people and the quality of employment in Bulgaria, for modern left politics and an alternative to the status quo.
After the discussion, the celebration of the holiday by the capital's socialists and DUMA newspaper will take place, traditionally in the Boris Garden. The beginning will be given at 11:30 with performances by Orlin Goranov and the duet “Expose”. The official part will start at 12:00. At the event, the admission of 200 new young socialists to the BSP will be announced and membership cards will be handed out.
