The deputies did not accept the cancellation of the alternative tax for picking mushrooms, herbs and berries - 1

With the votes of PP-DB, "Revival" and the BSP parliament rejected the amendments to the Personal Income Tax Act on second reading. The votes of the deputies from GERB-SDS, DPS and ITN in support of the amendments were not enough, and since even the title of the bill was not adopted, its consideration in the plenary hall was suspended.

The changes provided for the cancellation of the alternative tax for picking wild mushrooms, herbs and berries, including truffles.

The arguments of "Revival" and PP-DB turned out to be similar - they insisted on preserving the current regime:

"Currently they pay one common fee in every single state forest enterprise. Included in that fee they pay is their insurance. Thus, the fee currently does not depend on their income, which is good for them, and at the end of the year they do not declare income to the National Revenue Agency", explained Daniel Petrov from "Vazrazhdane".

Asen Vassilev from PP-DB also spoke against the changes:

"We will not support this. From "Continuing the Change" and "Democratic Bulgaria" we think it is much better to have 50,000 Bulgarian citizens who are not serfs and pay their insurance like all other citizens, and for companies to pay their taxes in the open, and not somewhere in the dark to avoid taxes.

Previously, branch organizations also spoke out against the changes.

The bill was passed in first reading on April 26.
