After three months behind bars, the Sofia Court of Appeal has placed under house arrest Gabriela Peeva, accused of the death of her husband Peyo Peev. Together with her mother Krasimira Trifonova, they were detained in January after the man's body was discovered on Vitosha, "Nova TV" recalled.
In order to release her under house arrest, the court considered that Peeva is not in danger of absconding or committing a crime when she is free. The magistrates also took into account the fact that she is the mother of two minor children. The hardest decision was taken by the relatives of the murdered Peyo Peev, who hope that the prosecutor's office will file the case and that it will be examined in court on its merits.

For the first time, Peeva herself spoke to the media. She said she was innocent but declined to comment on the details of the murder. The accused will be under house arrest with an electronic bracelet in an apartment in the "East" district of the capital.

„I am innocent. I didn't do anything and I'm being accused of something I didn't do. I went out to look after my children. Thanks to justice! There is justice in Bulgaria. Thanks to the Bulgarian court! The important thing right now is that my children be returned to me, as they were kidnapped,”, explained Peeva.
Gabriela and her mother Krasimira Trifonova, who is a former employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are accused of strangling the young man. The motive for the crime is believed to be related to parental rights.
