The summer tourist season in Bulgaria was officially opened, BNT reported.
This happened last night at a symbolic ceremony in front of the ancient gates of the UNESCO city of Nessebar. The beginning of Summer 2024 was announced by the President Rumen Radev, together with the Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev, the Mayor of Nessebar and ministers from the Cabinet.
"I am convinced that this year we will observe the traditions both here in Nessebar and everywhere along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and we will live up to the expectations of our guests. I want to address with words of gratitude to all the representatives of the local government and the tourism industry, who, despite the recent difficult years for the whole world, are making great efforts for Bulgaria to defend its name as a first-class and safe tourist destination", said President Rumen Radev.
Expectations are for a stable and safe summer, saturated with positive emotions, for all who have chosen the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, said Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev. And he added that the expectations are for 10% more tourists compared to the pre-Covid 2019.
