" There was categorically no lobbying pressure to allow the construction of the private children's hospital "Mama and I". No lobbying pressure was exerted on me". This was stated by the Acting Health Minister Galya Kondeva in the program "Why Mr. Minister?" on bTV.
She explained that the issue of permitting a hospital is regulated in the law.
In her words, so many stories have been told about the national children's hospital, but nothing has been done. The question of whether the hospital is needed or not, there are rules and regulations to make complex assessments for the construction of the hospital. Many analyzes have been done and so far, in general, all the project proposals of various investors have been accepted for this - there may be many beds, but when there is a need for someone to be admitted somewhere in a hospital, the Ministry of Health receives signals that there are no beds in a certain hospital beds, commented the Minister of Health.
She pointed out that the public response to the private hospital has been strong and has created grounds for reflection on why it is necessary to build a private hospital. Galya Kondeva does not know whether she has lost the trust of the acting prime minister by refusing to issue a permit for the private hospital. However, she is disappointed that there is no children's hospital and there is a lack of trust. He is not worried about the DANS check either.
"I am able to defend the interests because as a doctor and administrator I have defended the dialogue. Now we have the opportunity to analyze the current situation in a longer-term plan to bring out the benefits for the hospital", Minister Kondeva also said. There are currently 1,996 pediatricians across the country.
When asked why nurses are fleeing Bulgaria, Kondeva pointed out that the profession is unattractive to young people and what the Ministry of Health can do is through a project to promote specializations in health care. It is also being discussed with the Minister of Education to optimize the training program for nurses and make its implementation as short as possible.
When asked why Dr. Valentin Dimitrov was left as the director at the head of "Pirogov", Galya Kondeva stated that she canceled the order for the removal of the director of the hospital, as his term of office will expire soon. The contests and requirements are clear, but the health minister does not know whether Dr. Dimitrov will apply or not. At the moment "Pirogov" hospital there are no arrears, Kondeva further specified.
Galya Kondeva also commented on the topic of medical helicopters and when they will start working. 6 medical teams will be trained. Helicopters will also be able to be used at night. The black box is not yet certified, but is undergoing test projects by the helicopter manufacturer. However, this would not prevent the use of medical helicopters from flying. All helicopter defects have also been fixed.
