As of July 1, the acceptance of applications for granting targeted heating aid for the 2024/2025 heating season will begin, dariknews.bg reported.
They can be submitted on-site at the “Social assistance” (DSP), through a licensed postal operator, including through an electronic registered mail service, electronically with a qualified electronic signature and electronically in accordance with the Law on Electronic Government. The deadline is 31.10.2024, the Social Assistance Agency reminds.

Targeted aid is granted for a period of five months – from November 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025
Individuals and families whose average monthly income for the previous 6 months, before the month of submission of the application-declaration, is lower than or equal to an individually determined differentiated income for heating are entitled to targeted assistance for heating.
In order to receive assistance for heating, unemployed persons of working age must necessarily be registered in the Directorates “Labour Bureau” at least 3 months before the month of submission of the application-declaration and that they have not refused the job offered to them or inclusion in training.
Targeted heating aid is granted if individuals or families meet the following conditions:
- that their own dwelling is the only one;
- not to carry out activities as sole traders and not to have a share in the capital of a trading company;
- not to have receivables, income from movable or immovable property, deposits, shareholdings and securities, the total value of which for the individual or for each of the family members exceeds the poverty line for the relevant year (for 2024 - 526, BGN 00), with the exception of vouchers or shares from mass privatization;
- do not have a contract for the provision of property against an obligation for maintenance and/or maintenance; this requirement does not apply in cases where those who have taken on maintenance and/or care obligations are students, unemployed, incapacitated or disabled people;
- have not transferred residential, cottage, agricultural or forest property and/or common parts thereof for payment or by donation in the last 2 years, and the total value of the transactions must not exceed BGN 3,787.20 (24 times the amount on the support basis, which for 2024 is in the amount of BGN 157.80).
Targeted heating aid is provided as follows:
When heating with thermal energy, electricity and natural gas – in money of the entitled person or family, according to the stated method of payment
When heating with solid fuel:
- In the money of the entitled person or family, according to the stated method of payment
- To a solid fuel trader who made the delivery – if the person's or family's wish is explicitly reflected in the application-declaration.
