A dream flight for many to Palma de Mallorca turned into a nightmare lasting nearly two days for many Bulgarians. People are victims of another more than huge delay of the Ryanair airline. "Maritsa" tells about the passengers' problems.
A flight to Palma de Mallorca was scheduled for 13:55. on July 6 from the “Sofia” airport.
Initially the flight was delayed by 20 minutes, after which the delay steadily increased.
It was subsequently announced for 16:40. The passengers are put on the buses that leave for the plane, but after a few minutes they are stopped.
The explanation from airport officials is that “the crew reworked.”
The people were brought back to the airport and told that a new crew was being sought to fly the flight. Subsequently, the flight was scheduled for 22:00, and a little later for 00:15.
Things don't end there. The delay continues to renew every hour, and passengers, including babies and the elderly, fall asleep on airport chairs. Total misinformation reigns, and an airport employee doesn't show up for hours.
However, around 2:00 in the morning, two female employees appear and announce that there will be a flight. When the passengers are put back on the buses at 2:00 a.m., they are told that the flight is canceled for the next day.
The staff who checks the tickets of the travelers does not give an adequate explanation, but only states: “For 5 euros that much.”
The passengers who are not from Sofia are finally, at 4:30 a.m., sent to a hotel where they can “overnight”.
People are mad and start filming the madness with their phones, in which officers of the “Border Police” are trying to confiscate the phone of one of the passengers.
Later in the night it was reported that the flight was listed for 12:00pm today July 7th, then changed again to 4:25pm.
People are appalled by the attitude and communication between airport and airline staff. From “Ryanair” no comment.
