The condition of the 19-year-old volunteer who was injured while extinguishing the fire in Sakar is stable but serious, the University Hospital for Active Treatment (UMBAL) announced “St. Georgi“ in Plovdiv. His vital signs are good, he is in contact, but more operations are ahead of him, added the medical facility, quoted by BTA.
Until now, the volunteer's condition was critical and medics were making every effort to fight for his life.
He is from Svilengrad and joined the extinguishing operations on July 15. He fell from a tank on a wheeled tractor when the machine passed through a smoky and reduced visibility section towards the village of Raykova Mogila in the area of Kalamishko Dere. His body was found badly burned by the tractor driver near the machine. The victim was transported to Plovdiv from the Center for Emergency Medical Assistance in Svilengrad.
Levski football team announced that a supporter of the team was injured while fighting the fires in southern Bulgaria and the club is ready to help with his treatment.
