Doctors from the Sofia The Fourth City Hospital declared against the merger of the medical facility with Sofia's Second City Hospital. A decision on such a change will be discussed by the Metropolitan Municipal Council on Thursday, BNR reports.
The Fourth City Hospital in Sofia has 75 beds, and the medical staff is half as much as needed. A large number of doctors and nurses are of retirement age. Some of them do not agree with the merger of the hospital into the Second City Hospital. They shared it during a meeting organized by advisers from PP-DB - "Save Sofia".
"I don't want to go to foreign hospitals, foreign departments. In this hospital, we have very good working conditions, we have equipment. Leave us to work and provide truly timely, adequate and quality medical services to the population," said an employee.
"I am for having a job, having good conditions, having a decent salary and a working plan to be implemented. I know that in this version the hospital cannot exist", said another.
From the group of PP-DB-"Save Sofia" will vote against the structural change, and the authors of the report on it are councilors from BSP and GERB-SDS.
According to Saad Alwani, the medical facility can be preserved.
"I propose a new person to enter the Board of Directors, who will present a concept for the recovery of the hospital. The hospital has capacity, it has the prospect of being rehabilitated.
According to Vanya Grigorova, there is no such option.
"There are two options before the hospitals - either it goes bankrupt or it merges into Vtora Gradska, because to my question: "Will you give a few million for recovery" the answer was: "We will do an analysis".
