Nikolay Nenchev has been appointed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs as temporary manager of our embassy in Ukraine.
Unlike the appointment of an ambassador (which is agreed with the president) or a consul general and representative in the FAO (which are made by a decision of the Council of Ministers), the decision of a temporary administrator is the absolute authority of the minister. /p>
This recalls on "Facebook" Solomon Passy. This decision does not prevent the appointee or any other person from being subsequently designated as ambassador.
The personal diplomatic rank of the diplomat (ambassador, plenipotentiary minister, etc.) is also determined internally in the MFA and does not agree with another.
It was a real anomaly — against the background of the war against Ukraine, which is a world priority — already 28 months our embassy in Kiev sits beheaded…
Now our country must make the most of the positions that Minister Nenchev has won in Kyiv.
Because there are also international efforts to restore Ukraine, in which Bulgaria must promptly (that is, from now on!) get involved.
