Slavyanka Mountain is still burning. Highly passable equipment is headed there. However, the short rain over the village of Senokos has extinguished some of the outbreaks in this area.

That sums up bTV.

The roads are open and the evacuated residents of the village of Tsaparevo are already at home. However, this is not the situation in the village of Senokos, where the fire has been contained only on one side.

For Zorka Samardzhiyska from the village of Tsaparevo, this is the second fire. The 80-year-old woman lost her house to lightning in 2014.

„Then they came from bTV, my son and daughter-in-law gave me an interview. And what?! "Nothing happened after that interview," explains the elderly woman.

On the day of the last fire, Zorka set off on the road to Sandanski with 87-year-old Paraskeva Stefanova.

„It's very scary. But now we have calmed down. The important thing is that we are fine and that this does not happen a second time. Fires are worse than war – to run away from your house because of the flames”, explains Paraskeva.

Five days later, the fire disaster in the village of Tsaparevo was brought under control and the two women returned home.

This is not the case with the fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border.

Special excavators have reached this part of Pirin. For 16 days they have been trying to clear the road so that the fire does not reach the Bulgarian part of the mountain.

„With each passing day, the fire descends further down the slopes in the Bulgarian part of the mountain. With heavy chain machinery, we are trying to make wide enough clearings to stop the fire from spreading”, explains Georgi Dinev, regional governor of Blagoevgrad.

In the village of Senokos, the evacuated people have not returned to their homes either. Zorka Samardzhiyska says that no matter what happens, there is nothing better than the native home.

„To whom did we not write... They gave us an answer, but nothing”, explains Zorka.

It rained in some parts of the district on Saturday, but not in the village of Tsaparevo. Therefore, the fire brigade teams remain in place.

The teams from the village of Mikrevo have been moved to the village of Petrovo, because the settlement is the closest to Slavyanka mountain and to our border with Greece.
