The Speaker of the National Assembly Raya Nazaryan has refused the post of acting prime minister and in front of President Rumen Radev.

He invited her to a meeting today to discuss the future of official power. Nazaryan is the new addition to the list of possible acting prime ministers listed in the constitution, but already last week she announced that if Radev invited her, she would decline.

"With the head of state of the Republic of Bulgaria, we had a meaningful and long conversation on all topics on the society's agenda, including the future of the Republic of Bulgaria in the short and long term. We discussed as an important and good trend the return of the good dialogue between the parties, and we agreed that it should continue in the upcoming election campaign, because the issue is important for voter turnout and, above all, for the return of trust in political processes," Nazaryan said after the long just over 30 minutes of meeting.

According to her, the two also talked about her "possible agreement to accept the position of interim prime minister". "Before the head of state, I reaffirmed my position from a few days ago. Namely, that bright political figures will not contribute to the good tone and dialogue between the parties in an election campaign that must continue, nor will they increase confidence in the political process", Nazaryan was categorical.

She emphasized that "GERB will participate in these elections with an equal start with all other political formations and will fight for an honest victory.
