From “Border Police“ reminded that major repairs are being carried out on the Bulgarian section of the Danube bridge near Ruse, which is why a temporary organization of traffic has been introduced, with traffic taking place in one lane with a through mode and regulated by a traffic light system.
In addition to the Ruse checkpoint, drivers in the region can also go to the Silistra checkpoint, Kardam checkpoint, Durankulak checkpoint, Kaynardzha checkpoint. and "Krushari" border crossing. The last two are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day, trucks are not allowed to pass through them, informed the “Border Police”.
Traffic is intense at the border points with Greece “Kulata“ and “Scissors“ at the exit for cars.
From “Border Police“ recommended, in connection with the significantly increased crossings of the two points by the large number of Romanian tourists traveling to and from Greece, that people use alternative border points. Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of Thessaloniki, Kavala and the Halkidiki Peninsula can pass through the checkpoint “Ilinden” as an alternative to the "Tower" checkpoint. Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of Xanthi, Komotini and o. Thassos, can use the checkpoint "Zlatograd" as an alternative to the "Makaza" checkpoint. For resorts in the area of Alexandroupolis, it is recommended to go through the "Captain Petko voivoda" checkpoint.
Through the border points “Makaza“, “Zlatograd“ and “Ivaylovgrad“ only cars and vans are allowed to pass.
On the Bulgarian-Serbian border, traffic is intense at the checkpoint “Kalotina” at the entrance and exit for cars.
Traffic on the Bulgarian-Turkish border is busy – at the border crossing “Captain Andreevo“ and at the border crossing "Lesovo" at the entrance for cars.
