We are currently reaping the fruits of the economic circumstances that have been happening in Bulgarian politics for the past three years. This state between Borissov's past and the unclear future provokes days like today, in which the Speaker of the National Assembly cannot be elected once again. It will be necessary to vote again to find any possible solution. Thus, in practice, we find the blockade of the state. This is what the political scientist Slavi Vassilev said in the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the world in focus". on Radio "Focus“.
In his words, the PP acted responsibly today by withdrawing from their candidate for Speaker of the National Assembly and voting for Silvi Kirilov. According to him, if DB had followed their example, today we would have an elected chairman. "DB's behavior is absolutely a mystery to me. They either serve the interests of Peevski and want the institutions to be blocked and the National Assembly not to be elected, and accordingly to continue to be in this situation where it is unknown at all how the institutions will continue, or there is already some serious rift between the PP and DB.“
"Obviously GERB are the first political force, but they are not able to gather a majority in the National Assembly.". According to the political scientist Boyko Borisov, he did not make mistakes, "he moves his political pawns on the chessboard quite well and adequately, but he is in a very unfavorable position, because the society has not yet forgotten neither the bars, nor the sacks, nor the bundles, and society does not want to return to the "Borisov” era, but unfortunately there is no alternative.”
Slavi Vassilev pointed out that the Constitutional Court should open a case regarding the changes in the Constitution, which were adopted by the 49th National Assembly, concerning the official cabinet. "The new composition of the Constitutional Court gives me hope that the decisions will be reviewed and to hope that the official cabinet will return to where it belongs, namely with the president, so that elections can be held fairly and transparently, without to tolerate such practices as we have seen now.“
According to the political scientist, President Rumen Radev is the only one who can stand against Borisov. And "after the raised fist, the next step that needs to be taken is for the president to enter this political battle so that the forces that are opposed to Peevski and Borisov can find their standard bearer. To concentrate around him and for Bulgaria to really peel off from the bottom it is in. This cannot happen without President Radev,” Slavi Vassilev is categorical.
