This was stated by Tsoncho Ganev from “Vazrazhdane” after a meeting with Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova, quoted by dariknews.bg.
He defined the measures for entering the Eurozone as quite serious and restrictive. “What they have as estimates from the Ministry of Finance, the revenues in the next three years will grow every year by 5 billion, and the expenses will be many times more – growing by 18 billion by 2025. – this is at 0% deficit“, he added.

The Ministry proposes measures – with some of them from “Revival“ agree with others not. Here are the measures from the Ministry of Finance:
1. One-time taxation of the so-called excess profits from the banks.
„For us, this sounds extremely good and important for the attitude of banks towards Bulgarian consumers”, claim from “Vazrazhdane”.
2. Tax on the extraction of underground resources.

3. Raising the excise rates on tobacco products, increasing the excise taxes on alcohol.
„We are categorically against it. This rapid rise in excise duties would raise at least 0.80 cents. a pack of cigarettes“, he said firmly.
4. To simplify interest on principal payments required for public and state receivables.

5. Then there is a series of measures to reduce the share of the shadow economy, some of them approve and others do not.
6. Cancellation of VAT registration.
The party wants to return the old threshold of BGN 100,000. and to remove the new threshold of BGN 166,000
7. Application of a standard rate of 20% for the restaurant business.
„We believe that this rate should not be raised, but should remain at 9%“, the deputy was categorical.
8. To raise the tax on bread and flour.
The party is categorically against it.
9. One-time declaration of undeclared taxes and their taxation at 15%.
According to them, state and municipal officials will launder their money. “We will support it if state and municipal officials, as well as their relatives, are excluded”, added the People's Representative.
As a conclusion from “Revival“ they do not think that the Bulgarian taxpayer should become a hostage of the dreamy eurozone. Ganev commented that they are categorically against a 3% budget deficit in the difficult economic situation in which the country is.
