The Education union is demanding that a flu vacation be declared for the entire country next week, with the weekends being combined with the mid-term vacation, BNT reports. The request for an additional two to four days off is due to the many sick students and teachers. Despite the epidemic situation, from tomorrow in some areas classes will be in person, and in others - children will be on distance learning, which according to the unions is not a good decision.
The whole country is quite divided, somewhere there are decisions for online learning, somewhere there are decisions of the mayors for non-school days, and somewhere a regular learning process is taking place, and since the situation is quite dangerous and epidemic, it is necessary and better and more logical to declare a few more days of vacation. They can be two days, which would be the next two days and Wednesday, or they could be four days - the next two days and the last days of the week, which will guarantee us that this will preventively affect the passing of the danger of flu infection.
BNT: So online learning or flu vacation?
- Rather a flu vacation. "Online learning with a third of the class and sick teachers is not relevant and yes, it is true that it is better than nothing, but I think that in this case we are rather stopping and explaining that we are doing something, and the value attached is very low in this organization," commented Yulian Petrov, chairman of the "Education" union at the "Podkrepa" trade union.
