The mother was charged with murder of her two children in Vakarel. This was announced to journalists from the prosecutor's office, quoted by Nova TV.
"The woman explained the motive for the serious crime. Psychologists are working with her to find out whether it was an attempted extended suicide. She wanted to end her life, but at the same time she wanted to end the lives of her closest friends. In the past, she shared that she had problems with consciousness”, said Sofia District Prosecutor Natalia Nikolova.
The prosecutor's office added that there is no evidence of domestic violence in the family. At the time of the crime, the father was in Sofia.
The punishment provided for in Bulgarian law for such crimes is from 15 to 20 years behind bars, life imprisonment or life imprisonment without the right to parole.
At the moment, the accused has been detained for up to 72 hours, and within the framework of the law, a request will be submitted to the court for the most severe measure “detention in custody”.
We recall that on Saturday two children - aged 5 and 11 - were found dead in their beds. The signal about the tragedy was received at 1:55 p.m. The bodies were found by their father with multiple stab wounds to the neck.
Friends of the family describe them as a “model family”, and psychiatrists are categorical - such an act was not planned by accident. The knife used to commit the murders was found yesterday evening in the house where they had lived for several days.
