“On behalf of the state, we declare war on the property mafia”. This was announced by Justice Minister Georgi Georgiev at a press conference. He thanked journalist Veronika Dimitrova for her professional investigation of a case in which an 89-year-old woman from Sofia could have been left on the street.
The Justice Minister also thanked the SDVR, the Chief Commissioner and the Prosecutor's Office for the quick reaction to the case after his signal. “They have been working for months on various acts of the property mafia. We came across not only a brutal fraud, but a property mafia that has probably always existed, but in the last 4 years of timelessness and political uncertainty, its activity has taken on unprecedented proportions, stands out with exceptional audacity and new legal inventions”, said Georgi Georgiev.
According to him, the schemes involve people with exceptional legal knowledge who have used every possible loophole and loophole in the law.
“There are not dozens of collectives, organized criminal groups that will face the state and its judicial structures and mechanisms”, said Georgiev.
