The state remains categorical – there will be an increase in toll fees, despite the threats of protests by carriers. The first increase will be by 10% from April 1, and the second – again by 10%, from September 1, reports bTV.
Regional Minister Ivan Ivanov justified the increase with the need for funds for repairs. The last time toll fees increased was in the summer of 2023.
More will also be paid for vignettes for passenger cars. The annual fee will be 97 leva.
„We already have a sustainable trend of increasing revenue from road fees – compared to last year, we are reporting revenue of 1 million. more“, announced the Minister of Regional Development Ivan Ivanov.
The Regional Minister pointed out that with the new management of the toll administration they have created a new organization for control.
“With the new organization, between 200-250 heavy trucks are actively checked per day. In one week, 4399 motor vehicles were checked. 389 heavy trucks were fined for closed license plates. 193 tickets were handed out for old violations“, the Minister reported.
