The famous sociologist Parvan Simeonov made an in-depth analysis of the current political situation in the country in an interview with bTV, highlighting several worrying trends in the development of political processes.
According to the expert, Delyan Peevski is currently building a political formation resembling the early model of GERB, but with a different target group. "If GERB were a party of the mass urban Bulgarian, and not of the municipalities, Peevski's party would become a union of marginalized communities", Simeonov pointed out.
The analyst also commented on the relations between Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski: "Borisov is offered some, and Peevski is forced on him. He is choosing between the liberals and the Balkanists, but while Borisov can escape the liberals, he cannot escape the Balkanists.
Simeonov also analyzes the recent situation surrounding the deletion of the MECH parliamentary group. "Natalia Kiselova simply lost her temper. Yes, she probably formally had the right to delete the MECH group, but there was no need for this", the sociologist commented.
The expert's observations regarding public tension are particularly worrying. "The biggest political mistakes happen in times of calm and you start to calm down and start to overdo it", Simeonov warns. He adds that according to a new youth survey, young people are "much more electrified than before".
In conclusion, the sociologist expressed concerns that "the protest of the radicals all-in - Radostin, Kostadin and Ivelin, will wear out the cartridge of the protest".
