The leader of "Vazrazhdane" Kostadin Kostadinov described as "a disgrace" the parade held yesterday for the Day of Bravery and the Bulgarian Army. In a statement from the rostrum of the National Assembly, Kostadinov said that the celebrations were more like a funeral than a parade.
"Yesterday we did not have a parade, but we had a memorial service in the center of Sofia, without equipment, probably because the equipment has long been donated to Ukraine or stolen," said the leader of "Vazrazhdane".
Kostadinov also directed his criticism at the newly purchased F-16 fighter jet, which did not participate in the parade due to a technical problem. "Is there any point in talking about our combat aircraft, given that we have just seen our only F-16 aircraft, or fake 16, or defect 16, as we should now call it, which turned out to be unable to fly. When it will fly is not very clear!", he stressed.
The leader of "Vazrazhdane" also criticized the way they treat the military. In his words, immediately after the plane was defective, "it is normal, in their opinion, that the moment the machine becomes defective, they immediately blame the military".
"This was an extremely great disgrace, because our army may be a remnant, but there are still worthy people serving in it", concluded Kostadinov.
This year, the military parade was traditionally held on "Knyaz Alexander I" Square in Sofia with the participation of over 700 military personnel, but without the newly purchased American F-16 fighter jet, which was grounded due to a technical problem discovered before the celebrations.
