Georgi Panayotov, chairman of the "Podkrepa" trade union in the "Capital Electric Transport", pointed out that the demands of public transport employees for increases of 400 leva have changed and they are now demanding an increase of 300 leva, bTV reported.
According to him, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev has come up with two proposals. The first of them was for 7,000 people to receive 100 leva each, electric and motor transport – double bonus worth 582 leva.
Panayotov stated that if the demands for an increase of 300 leva are not met, an effective strike will result.
Villi Lilkov: There are two ways out of the situation
According to Prof. Villi Lilkov, deputy chairman of the SOS from “Blue Sofia“, to get out of this situation, there are two ways.
“One is easy, union, left, respectively wrong. The other is the right path. What is the left path – we meet the demands, the planned kindergartens, road repairs, parks, infrastructure maintenance will be canceled. The right solution is the following – yes, money, but also reforms“, he commented.
“If I were the mayor, I would do the following – I would write a long-term program for reforms and investments in public transport, which I would propose to the unions and the municipal council for discussion. We are also involving the state in this process“, Lilkov pointed out.
“The second thing I would do is a quick reform of Sofia's parking – introducing a red zone, expanding zones, increasing prices“, he also said.
