A terrible downpour swept Troyan today. About 28 liters of rain per square meter fell on the city in less than 30 minutes. The streets turned into rivers, but there are no reports of people in distress or damage, Meteo Balkans said.
The areas hit by the ice disaster yesterday are recovering. The village of Shumata in Sevlievo was the most seriously affected by walnut-sized hail. Roofs were damaged there and all agricultural production was destroyed.
In just 15 minutes, the ice chunks in the Forest caused enormous damage to the roofs of the houses.
The agricultural production of over 100 families in the village was completely destroyed.
The mayor of the village will request assistance from the Sevlievo municipality to deal with the damage.
