This night, 148 people were evacuated from Tel Aviv with carefully planned actions by the Bulgarian state, diplomats in Sofia and in the field. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov at the beginning of today's government meeting.
„A total of 89 are Bulgarians, 41 are citizens of Romania, and among these individuals there are Belgians, Slovaks, Kosovars, Albanians, Finns, US citizens, and German citizens“, the Prime Minister explained.
Zhelyazkov thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bulgarian diplomats, Bulgarian services, as well as Captain Yanko Ivanov and his company „Gulliver“, which carried out the flight.
The plane with the evacuated citizens landed at around 02:30 this night at Sofia airport after a flight from Egypt. They were met by Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev. The group was successfully evacuated from Israeli territory by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the assistance of our embassy in Tel Aviv.
