The lawyer for singer Debora Ivanova, who caused a car accident while drunk, will ask for a lighter sentence so she can take care of her child because the father was out of the country, reported "24 chasa".
She entered the courtroom with her left hand bandaged and did not answer questions about why she was driving drunk.
Pop-folk singer Debora Ivanova will remain in custody after she was caught driving with a high alcohol content and causing a traffic accident in the Pomorie region on July 9. By decision of the District Court in Pomorie, the strictest measure of restraint was imposed on her - "detention in custody". The court took into account that the singer was driving under the influence of alcohol, although at the time she was on a suspended sentence imposed by the Sofia District Court just a few months earlier.
Debora crashed a car with Moldovan tourists on July 9 in Pomorie. The alcohol test, recorded by a breathalyzer, showed 3.14 per mille. The blood sample showed less - 2.93 per mille, it became clear in court. Deborah was also driving her 6-year-old son in her car. He was not injured. There were no injuries in the other car, where a family from Moldova with a 2-year-old child was traveling. This is the singer's third offense. The first is from 2016, and in 2024 she was caught driving drunk, for which she was given a suspended sentence.
In court, the singer's lawyer stated that after the accident she was absolutely adequate and her behavior did not meet the indicators of the breathalyzer - 3.14 per mille.
"I want to go home to look after my child. I didn't hide, I called 112 after the accident," the singer stated in court.
