Dear members and supporters of Authentic MRF,
Dear representatives of state power and political forces,
Dear like-minded people,
Today I address you at one of the most critical moments in the history of DPS - the party that has its deep roots in the most difficult pages of the Bulgarian transition, in the fight against the forced assimilation of Bulgarian Turks and Muslims, and which made its irreplaceable contribution to the stability and Euro-Atlantic orientation of the country.
In 1990, against the backdrop of the collapse of the totalitarian system and after the monstrous “Renaissance Process“ we launched a movement - DPS, which responded to the thirst for true Democracy, embodied the dignity, rights and freedoms of thousands of Bulgarian citizens. In the most difficult years of Bulgarian democracy, we were a corrective, a partner, a guarantor of ethnic peace and a driving force for the modernization of the country.
Today, however, with pain and responsibility, I declare that the MRF has been hijacked.
The party was taken over from within by people who are not connected to its historical charge, do not carry its moral code and do not serve its voters.

Under his leadership, the party moved away from its roots, became an instrument of personal and oligarchic interests, and the repressive apparatus of the state began to be used against anyone who dared to express a different opinion. opinion.
Therefore, I declare the following:
1. Today begins a three-month transitional period, during which several central councils will be held in order to chart the democratic path for the creation of a new political formation that will meet the expectations of Bulgarian citizens and our community. As well as being resistant to external influence, true to the values of democracy, human rights and personal freedom.

True ideals cannot be replaced by positions, fear and economic dependence.
We cannot and will not allow a historical cause to be replaced by vested interests, and the political struggle to be waged with clubs instead of ideas.

Dear Members of Parliament of the authentic DPS!
I also address you at a time of testing for democracy, when fundamental human rights, freedoms and foundations of the rule of law are exposed to a serious threat. In the conditions of an empowered state, in which there is a concentration of power in the hands of certain circles, leading to the erosion of institutional control and statehood, your responsibility to citizens and history is greater than ever.
The DPS is a political force with a proven historical contribution to the consolidation of democratic values, ethnic peace and parliamentarism in Bulgaria. The principles of tolerance, equality and European orientation are the basis of its political philosophy and long-standing parliamentary activity.
Today, when democratic mechanisms are being questioned, I call on you:
- to be active, to defend the rights and freedoms of all citizens – without fear, without hesitation, without compromise;
- to oppose attempts to establish authoritarian practices and political repression;
- to state clearly that the institutions of the Republic of Bulgaria belong to the people, not to personal and corporate power interests;
- to work in teamwork, understanding in the name of the voter who has voted for you.
I believe that your determination and political valor will restore trust in parliamentary democracy and the rule of law.
