A medical helicopter transported a 53-year-old man from Vidin to Sofia with a severe neurological head injury, the deputy director of the Multidisciplinary Hospital for Active Treatment “St. Petka” in the Danube city, Dr. Bogdan Tomov, told BTA.
The victim suffered a height injury after falling from a ladder. After tests, a large cerebral hemorrhage was also detected.
The patient has been referred to emergency neurosurgery in the capital, Dr. Tomov specified.
In this case, the newly built helipad in the courtyard of the Vidin hospital was used for the first time.
Until now, when it was necessary to transport patients by medical helicopter, the stadium in the city was used, added the deputy director of the Vidin hospital.
