All night long, fire brigade teams extinguished individual fires in the town of Bulgarovo, where a fire broke out yesterday.
The fire burned down 20 buildings in the villa area of the town, there were also evacuated people, an 85-year-old woman was gassed, and the mayor of Burgas declared a partial state of emergency.
A military helicopter from the Krumovo airbase, over 14 fire brigade vehicles and hundreds of volunteers joined in extinguishing the element.
"The fire is under control, there are still small fires that firefighters are currently extinguishing. They have been localized, they are being poured with water so that the fire can be completely extinguished", explained the mayor of the city of Bulgarovo Konstantin Shterionov.
He indicated that the causes of the fire are being investigated, a perpetrator has been identified and detained. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
From his words it became clear that the affected properties are over 20 buildings, which are in the villa zone, as well as about 4 thousand acres, pastures and forests.
"There has never been such a big fire here, with such a large perimeter.
How will all the victims be assisted, since there are burned villas that are both inhabited and uninhabited?
Documents will be submitted to the municipality and then we will assess how we will do it according to a program, how it will be," explained the mayor of Konstantin Shcherionov.
