Exactly at midnight on September 7, numerous speed cameras will begin enforcing fines for exceeding average speed.
At the beginning and end of each road section, the time it takes a vehicle to travel the distance will be recorded, and its average speed will be calculated. If it is higher than the maximum permissible for this road section, this will be registered and the data will be immediately provided to the Ministry of Interior. The fines are the same as for speeding.
On September 7, the system will start with 22 measurement points, informed in the morning block of BNT Prof. Oleg Asenov - Director of the "National Toll Management"
"There is tolerance for drivers and it is described in the standardized type of average speed measurement itself, which is 3 km to a speed of 100 kilometers and 3% above 100 kilometers, he explained.
According to him, thanks to these control mechanisms, the behavior of a given driver on the road will be built.
