This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, who today visited the completely renovated and modernized "Prof. Marin Drinov" Primary School in the town of Kyustendil. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the activity of the local authorities and the use of various financial instruments and mechanisms for improving the school infrastructure. The educational institution has been renovated under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan, with energy efficiency measures introduced and the environment modernized. The Mayor of Kyustendil Ognyan Atanasov also emphasized the importance of support from the state and the municipality.
The main pride of the school is the robotics department and the club created for it, which has won a number of prizes in competitions in the country. Modern forms of education, 3D glasses, opportunities for immersion in the vast world of knowledge through technology are guaranteed, the Prime Minister noted. Zhelyazkov especially emphasized the importance of STEM departments in schools, which increase students' interest in natural sciences.
Prime Ministerial School “Prof. Marin Drinov“ is an innovative school and starting this year we are developing smart automation, mechatronics, we strive to make such areas necessary for business, said the school director Bozhidar Popov, highlighting the active cooperation between the school, the municipality and business. Popov indicated that the departments for art, music, and drawing have also been renovated. The school also has a theater group. The gym has also been renovated, and the school fence is about to be renovated, so that it has an even better appearance.
