The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office brought a 49-year-old man to criminal liability for hooligan acts committed in a Sofia mall.
On 12.10.2025, at around 7:30 p.m. in a mall on Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd. in Sofia, the accused N.A. committed indecent acts, grossly violating public order and expressing clear disrespect for society.
He took out a “machete“ knife and brandished it in different directions and at different people, without being provoked by the victims. N.A. committed the act with particular audacity, demonstrating impunity and disregard for the established rules protecting good morals in society.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case for a crime under Art. 325, Para. 2, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which provides for a penalty of “deprivation of liberty“ of up to 5 years.
The accused was convicted. By a decree of a supervising prosecutor, he was detained for a period of up to 72 hours.
A request from a prosecutor to take a permanent measure of detention “detention in custody“ against N.A. is to be submitted to the Sofia District Court.
