Due to the illness of a juror, the case against Kaloyan Kaimakchiiski, accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Kristina Blagoeva, was postponed. The tragic incident took place in the spring of 2023, when the body of the 32-year-old woman was found in the trunk of a car with two gunshot wounds in Sofia.
According to the conclusions of the forensic doctors, numerous traces of violence were found on the victim's body - abrasions and bruises in the area of the neck, hands and knees.
The investigation established that Kaloyan Kaimakchiiski has two suspended sentences in the past - for setting fire to a car and for making death threats. At the time of committing the crime, he was rehabilitated due to expired sentences.
Relatives of the victim say that Christina was subjected to continuous harassment and threats by the accused. However, she never filed a formal complaint with the police.
On the day of the murder, Kaimakchiiski followed Christina after work, armed with a gun owned by his current girlfriend Yordanka, who works in the military. He prepared a car in advance, in the trunk of which he later hid the body of the victim.
The next court session is scheduled for November 26, when witnesses are to be questioned.
