Fire destroys equipment worth millions in farmyard in Yambol region, reports bTV.
Arson is suspected.
On April 29, at around 5:00 am, a fire was reported in the farmyard of a long-time grain producer and livestock breeder in the village of Ruzhitsa. The fire engulfed agricultural equipment in the yard. Three fire brigade teams with fire trucks were immediately sent to the scene.
The fire has been brought under control, but the damage exceeds three million leva.
Three combines, two spring seeders and three tractors - two of the eighth and one of the sixth series - were completely destroyed. The machines were prepared for the spring campaign, equipped with organic fertilizer applicators and other modern equipment.
Procedural and investigative actions have been carried out, and pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. Fire department reports have been issued, and an assessment of the damage by experts and insurers is yet to be carried out.
The victim is adamant that this was intentional arson. According to him, the incident is directly related to signals about pasture abuses that he submitted to institutions, including the media.
Despite the huge loss, he is already receiving support from his colleagues, who are offering equipment for rent so that he can start the campaign on time.
