Andrey Serebrennikov, who killed a 22-year-old woman from Perm, got his freedom thanks to his participation in the war in Ukraine. The Russian told 59.ru what made him go to the combat zone.
The woman from Perm disappeared in May 2015. Her 27-year-old acquaintance was found guilty of her death. The man said that during sex, the girl asked him to choke her and soon after he agreed to comply with this request, she lost consciousness. When the Russian woman wheezed, Serebrennikov finished her off.
The court sentenced him to 9.5 years of imprisonment in a colony with a strict regime. In 2023, the prisoner left prison for participating in the "special military operation", after which he was pardoned. He explained his desire to go to the front for patriotic reasons. “I went there because I love my homeland”, Serebrennikov said, adding that he now wants peace.
