Two children disappeared on June 4 after going with their grandfather in the forest near the village of Burmakina near the Russian city of Tyumen. The next day, the elderly man returned, but the 12-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl were not with him.
The missing children were found after a massive search operation involving 654 people and 98 vehicles.
The survivors had to fight wolves with sticks, employees of the Russian Copper Company, who found the minors after several days of searching, told URA.RU in an interview.
The children explained that their dogs barked when the wolves approached and thus saved their lives.
„Vika and Grisha took sticks and even hit one of the wolves on the nose - after that no one came near them. They have no fear, we were very surprised by their courage”, the volunteers said.
On June 8, the heroes were found alive, evacuated and handed over to the doctors.
