Tickets for the World Cup in the United States have been released, with the price for the group stage being $ 60, but fans will go through a lottery, BTA reports.
FIFA announced that they have already received 4.5 million applications. Applications have been received from 216 countries and territories, led by the three host countries - the United States, Mexico and Canada, during the 10-day application period, which has now ended.
The most applications were received from Germany, England, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Spain and Italy.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the demand as “strong demand“. As it is known, the competition has been expanded to 48 teams and 104 matches.
Those who are drawn to buy $60 tickets for group stage matches will be notified from September 29 and given a window to purchase them from October 1. But the window does not guarantee that tickets will go on sale, FIFA added.
Additional phases of ticket sales are to follow, before and after the group stage draw, scheduled for December 5 in Washington. So far, 15 teams, led by champions Argentina, have qualified, along with the three automatically-qualified hosts. FIFA said it was also opening a secure resale platform.
