The organizers of IBA Pro Boxing released footage from the testing of the gloves, which showed the dissatisfaction of the Cobra. Pulev described the pair provided to him as thin and small, not hiding his disappointment.
The Bulgarian boxer drew attention to the fact that special order gloves were prepared for his Russian opponent. While Pulev's were black, Gasiev had a model in yellow and red. The organizers assured that the difference was only in the colors, but the Cobra expressed doubts about the characteristics of the equipment with the remark: "One never knows".
In response to the concerns, a representative of the organizers and Gasiev himself suggested that Pulev take the colored gloves to ensure equality.
"For me, it is important that everything be fair. Boxing is a sport, not war. What is for me, it should be for my opponent. The same doping control, the same gloves and everything else,", Pulev shared on the matter.
