Juventus won 2:1 over Roma in the derby of the 16th round of Serie A and further complicated the battle at the top of the standings. With the success, the “bianconeri“ collected 29 points and climbed to fifth place, just one point behind the “wolves“, who remain with 30. Leader Inter has 33 points and a game less, BNT reported.

The first half hour at the “Allianz Stadium“ passed cautiously and without serious scoring opportunities. The first more dangerous situation was for the hosts, when Kenan Yildiz broke away to the penalty area and shot, but a Roma defender intervened decisively. A little later, Lorenzo Pellegrini tried a volley after a ricochet, but the ball went over Michele Di Gregorio's goal.

Juventus opened the scoring at the end of the first half. Andrea Cambiazo passed accurately to Francisco Conceicao, who with a precise shot into the far corner left no chance for Mile Svilar – 1:0.

At the beginning of the second half, Kenan Yildiz again reminded of his talent with an impressive individual breakthrough, which ended with a diagonal shot into the side post. The pressure of the “old lady” gave a result in the 70th minute – Svilar deflected a header from Weston McKennie, but Luis Openda was the most resourceful in the addition and increased it to 2:0.

Roma returned the intrigue five minutes later. El Shaarawy found Tommaso Baldanzi at the far post, and the midfielder beat Di Gregorio with a powerful shot for 2:1. Until the end, Juventus had more chances to decide everything, as Yildiz hit the post for the second time in the 80th minute.

In added time, the tension rose after Daniele Rugani made a mistake, but Di Gregorio intervened decisively and preserved the valuable victory for his team.

Earlier today, Lazio and Cremonese drew 0:0 at the "Olimpico" in the first match of the 16th round of the Italian football championship, in which the two teams are separated by only two points. "The Eagles" are eighth with 23 points, while Cremonese are in 11th place, BTA reported.

Both teams played a boring match and had only four shots on target, with the visitors posing the biggest threat. Leicester legend Jamie Vardy had a chance to head home from close range in the 52nd minute, but the ball flew over the crossbar.

Cremonese finished the match with ten men after Federico Cacerini was sent off in added time. However, with only three minutes left to play, Lazio failed to score.
