The BOC Secretary General - Danail Dimov, commented in detail to the media on the decision of the Sofia City Court, which annulled Lecheva's election as president of the Olympic Committee, BNT reported.
On the eve of the holidays, Dimov specified that the decision is not final, as an appeal to a higher instance is pending. Lecheva's team has been warned several times that it will be “finished“ by the judge in question.
There could not be new elections for a long time, as the court must make a final decision on the past ones.
“We have not yet received the court decision, we learned about it from media publications. Apparently the media works better than the Sofia City Court. After getting acquainted with the judge's motives - I can say once again that this is an unlawful decision. There are glaring errors in it. For example, the interpretation of the deadline for Lecheva's candidacy. The normative basis of the law, which the judge refers to and her entire interpretation... even a third-year student will understand what it is about. I explain the decision as an abuse of law and justice. The claims are identical and there is no way there could be different decisions. They literally warned us that she would "finish us off". Thank God the decision is not final and will be appealed. Fortunately, there are still judges who are not dependent and are not "puppets on strings," Dimov said.
The candidacy was submitted on the last possible day, and Lecheva was not late with the deadline.
"The cases continue, Mrs. Lecheva will travel to Italy. No matter how many judges are bought - Kostadinova has been removed from the IOC. However, the idea was not for Stefka Kostadinova to return, but to stay in her post longer. The Olympic Committee continues to spend state money. One of the cases was conducted in a scandalous manner, we have a warning for several judges. We will not remain silent if it is a question of corrupt justice. There can be no new elections until the court has ruled on the old ones. The day will come when there will be retribution. The situation for the Games does not change. We are trying not to let this affect the athletes. We tried to avoid any penalties for the BOC. Stefka's team was eagerly waiting for the IOC to punish us," Dimov added.
"The case in the weightlifting federations is identical to the one in the BOC. The day after the fair elections, three requests for compensation followed. The teams' lawyer is the BOC's lawyer - Teodora Zlateva. It is already clear where the problems of Bulgarian sport come from - from one center. The same people are standing. It will probably be the same in wrestling. Peevski did not call me to tell me that he cares about these federations. All of this will have a tragic ending. It is clear that stealing money and influence is their goal. We are following the model of the “conquered” "state as a prosecutor's office, judicial system, tax system, executive branch," Dimov concluded, specifying that no final sanctions have yet been imposed on Bulgaria in connection with the upcoming Winter Games.
