CSKA defeated Dobrudzha 2:0 in a match from the 27th round of the First League, BTA reported.
Max Ebong opened the scoring in the added time of the first half, and Leandro Godoy doubled from the penalty spot midway through the second half.
With the victory, the "Reds" took a decisive step towards a place in the top 4, taking fourth place with 49 points, already six more than the fifth Cherno More, who lost yesterday in the away match against Levski with 1:2. Dobrudzha occupies 12th place with 25 points.
"The Reds" imposed a territorial advantage with the initial referee's signal, but had difficulty getting dangerously close to the guests' goal and were unable to create scoring opportunities against the well-organized defense of the Dobrudzha team led by Yasen Petrov.
All the most interesting things in the first half happened just before the break. First, the guests had an excellent opportunity to take the lead after a breakthrough by Tomas Silva, but his shot found the net from the outside. At the beginning of the second half, Dobrudzha could have equalized in a curious way, after Vasco Oliveira tried a cross from the center, but CSKA goalkeeper Fyodor Lapouhov was careful and managed to clear it for a corner.
In the 68th minute, CSKA was awarded a penalty after Leandro Godoy outpaced the visitors' defender Bogdan Kostov and was fouled in the penalty area. After reviewing the situation via VAR, referee Georgi Ginchev pointed to the penalty spot and Godoy was accurate for 2:0.
During the penalty situation, Dobrudzha defender Jonathan Hurtado was injured after Godoy accidentally hit him and the visitors' player was carried out on a stretcher and taken from the stadium by ambulance.
