Victoria Tomova was eliminated in the first round of the French Open. Bulgaria's top seed lost 5:7, 1:6 to 2022 quarterfinalist Veronika Kudermetova from Russia. The match lasted 94 minutes, BTA reported.
The Bulgarian started the match poorly and fell behind 1:4, but managed to make a complete turnaround for 5:4. With this result, Tomova missed a set point on Kudermetova's serve, and then lost three consecutive games for 5:7. In the second part, the Bulgarian managed to win only one game and was eliminated from the singles competition.
