Inter Miami's Argentine striker Lionel Messi once again became the record holder for the number of goals without penalties. Messi surpassed Portuguese striker and Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo in this indicator, BTA reported.

This happened after Messi scored two goals and recorded an assist in the MLS match, in which Inter Miami defeated New York Red Bulls 5-1 as an away team.

The 38-year-old striker now has 764 goals in his career, not including penalties, while Ronaldo has 763. In total, during his legendary career, Lionel Messi has scored 874 goals (including 110 from penalties) in 1,114 matches, while Ronaldo has 938 (175 from penalties) in 1,281 matches.

Jordi Alba and Telasco Segovia also scored twice for Inter Miami's success. Alexander Hack scored the only goal for the New York Red Bulls.

Inter Miami won their sixth game in their last seven matches.
