Decisions on shooting down drones that have entered the airspace of an EU country are made by the countries concerned, a European Commission spokesman said today at a press conference in response to questions, BTA reported.
He added that the next steps are due in October after the online meeting of several EU countries and Ukraine at the end of last week to build a wall against drones. According to him, a wider range of countries will join the talks. There is a need for a European response to today's threats, the spokesman explained.
The construction of the wall is related to the detection of drones in violation and determining the direction from which they come, and the countries themselves will assess how to act further, he specified. The spokesman noted that NATO representatives were involved in the initial talks. We need to protect the eastern flank, the participation of all countries in the region is necessary, he said.
