Moldova's future is in Europe, said Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, after the elections held in the country, SIR (Servizio Informazione Religiosa) reported.
President Maia Sandu's pro-European party prevailed in the parliamentary elections, while the pro-Russian bloc suffered a defeat. The elections were key in determining Moldova's future geopolitical orientation.
„With this historic step forward, the Moldovan people have chosen the path of democracy, hope and opportunity. They have chosen Europe. Europe is Moldova. Moldova is Europe“, Roberta Metsola pointed out.
The results of the elections in Moldova show the strong support in the country for its accession to the EU. This was stated by Moldovan President Maia Sandu at a press conference after her pro-European party won the parliamentary elections held in Moldova.
