Kosovo received thousands of Turkish drones. Vucic: Turkey dreams of reviving the Ottoman Empire - 1

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic strongly condemned the sending of combat drones to Pristina by Turkey, emphasizing that he is "horrified by Turkey's behavior and its brutal violation of the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 1244", TANYUG reported, BTA reported.

“It is now completely clear that Turkey does not want stability in the Western Balkans and that it dreams of reviving the Ottoman Empire. Serbia is a small country, but we understood the message well!“, Vucic wrote on his profile on Ex yesterday evening.

Yesterday in Pristina it was announced that the “Skydagger“ drones ordered by Turkey were arrived, and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti wrote on his Facebook profile that it was a shipment of “thousands of drones“.

Kurti added that these drones were part of a contract signed in December last year with the Turkish company “Baykar“, which is the main manufacturer of the “Skydagger“ drones, and that they were expected to arrive in January 2026, but arrived earlier.

The Director of the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian government, Petar Petkovic, also pointed out that by arming Kosovo, Turkey is directly violating UN Security Council Resolution 1244, according to which KFOR (NATO peacekeeping forces in Kosovo) are the only armed forces in Kosovo, TANJUG reported.

The Serbian national television RTS reported that Petkovic was asked “Who is the militarization of Pristina and the placement of deadly weapons in the hands of the arsonist Albin Kurti aimed at, if not the peaceful Serbian people?“

Petkovic also stressed that it was no coincidence that the drones were delivered three months ahead of schedule, “just a few days before the local elections“ – in order to provide Kurti “with the necessary support before the elections on October 12, so that he could continue to terrorize the Serbian people“.

He also said that Belgrade “understood this message well“ and that it would “continue to responsibly preserve peace and stability, despite the armed alliances that are being created to the detriment of peace and which pose a direct threat“.
