The Turkish presidential administration officially confirmed its participation in the Gaza summit in Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's office earlier announced that the summit would be held on October 13 and would bring together leaders from more than 20 countries. The event will be co-chaired by el-Sisi and US President Donald Trump.

„President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in response to the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, will visit Sharm el-Sheikh on October 13, 2025, to participate in the “Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit“, which will focus on the ceasefire agreement reached in Gaza,“ said Burhanettin Duran, head of communications for the Turkish presidential administration.

Erdogan is scheduled to deliver a speech at the summit and hold consultations with the leaders of the participating countries.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also plans to attend the Gaza peace summit in Egypt, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported, citing Palestinian official.

Earlier, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's office announced that the summit would be held on October 13 and would bring together leaders from more than 20 countries. The event will be co-chaired by al-Sisi and US President Donald Trump.

“A Palestinian official told me that President Abbas plans to attend Trump's peace summit in Egypt tomorrow“, Ravid wrote on the social media platform X.

On Thursday, Trump announced that Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas had reached an agreement to implement the first phase of a peace plan to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

In the first phase, Hamas will release Israeli hostages, and Israel will withdraw its forces to an agreed line in the Gaza Strip and release hundreds of Palestinians, including those serving life sentences for terrorism. Trump's 20-point plan, unveiled on September 29, calls for an immediate ceasefire, provided the hostages are released within 72 hours. The document also stipulates that Hamas and other Palestinian groups will not participate in governing the Gaza Strip, with control being transferred to a technocratic government under international supervision, led by Trump himself.
