Netanyahu orders 'forceful action' in Gaza - 1

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the army today to act "forcefully" against "terrorist" targets in the Gaza Strip, accusing "Hamas" of violating the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reported.

"Following the ceasefire violation by "Hamas", Prime Minister Netanyahu held consultations with the defense minister and the heads of the security services and gave instructions to act with force against terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip," the Israeli prime minister's office said in a statement.

The military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement said, that it was not aware of any incidents or fighting in the Gaza Strip city of Rafah. The comments came shortly after Israel said it had carried out airstrikes in the area to eliminate a threat from "terrorists" who had opened fire on Israeli soldiers, Reuters reported.

The Palestinian group reiterated its commitment to a ceasefire in all parts of Gaza.
